Build Your Punch List Straight on Your Drawings

Kanna lets you build a punch list directly on your drawings, pinning instructions and defects to exact points on your site plans. Instead of red-pen markups on paper or scattered photos in chat, your team pins each item where it happens, records what needs doing and tracks it through to completion. Everyone works from the same drawing, on any device, in real time.

Pin Punch List Items to Any Site Plan

Drop a pin anywhere on a PDF drawing, add the instruction or defect, and Kanna creates a linked punch list item automatically. No more red pens, no more guessing which area a comment refers to. Just clear, trackable markups on your site plans that everyone on site can follow.

Pin Tasks to the Exact Spot on Any Drawing

Open a PDF drawing in Kanna, switch to pin mode and tap the precise location that needs attention. Enter the instruction, defect or check, and it saves against that exact point on the plan. Site teams see immediately which part of the drawing an item refers to, removing the ambiguity of verbal explanations, chat screenshots or a photo of a marked-up paper drawing.

Every Pin Becomes a Trackable Punch List Item

When you build your punch list in Kanna, each pin creates a linked item, so nothing gets lost once the instruction is given. Assign an owner, set the status and watch it move from outstanding to complete. Tap an item in the list to jump straight to its pin on the drawing, where it is highlighted for you, and update progress without switching between spreadsheets and messaging apps.

See Outstanding and Completed Work at a Glance

On large sites a single drawing can carry dozens of instructions and corrective items. Kanna supports up to 300 pins per drawing, each grouped by status, so managers can see what is still outstanding, what is in progress and what is signed off. That makes inspection follow-ups and defect management far easier to control.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which file types can I pin tasks to?

You can pin tasks to drawings that are PDF files, opened in the Kanna viewer on both the app and the web. Pinning is not currently available on Excel files or photos, so we recommend uploading your plans as PDFs to get the most from the feature.

How many drawing pins can I add to one drawing?

You can pin up to 300 tasks to a single drawing. That is designed to cover even large-scale sites where one plan carries many instructions and corrective items at once.

What happens to my pinned tasks when I update a drawing to a new version?

Your pins are kept when you replace a drawing with a new version, and the linked tasks always remain. Please note that pin positions do not shift, so take extra care where pages are added or removed, as a pin may no longer sit against the right area.
